Jarilyn Fox, Allen, TX
Journalist & Great Motivational Speaker
Born in Waco, TX and raised in various cities as her father pursued a military career, Jarilyn Fox is a dynamic hands-on award-winning motivational speaker, community leader, wife and mother. She totally believes that “all things work together for the good of those who love the Lord,” and that she can do “all things through Christ which strengthens her.” She frequents ladies day seminars, cultural events and business meetings.
Jarilyn is the president and publisher of Business News Group, America’s authority on minority and women business development and supplier diversity since 1988. It is the number one award winning publication in its niche. In her position she develops strategic plans to advance the company’s mission and objectives to promote efficiency, revenue, profitability and growth as an organization. She sits on several boards and chairs various committees on behalf of the company. The company has seven niche market magazines in its group.
She also writes and edits for various local, regional and national publications. She is the wife of Kenny Fox, CPA, and the mother of Kendra, 20, Kyandra, 19,Kenny II, 14 and Kimerya, 13. The family resides in Allen, TX and worships with the saints that meet at the Greenville Avenue Church of Christ in Richardson,TX.
In addition to her numerous involvements at church, Jarilyn assists girl scouts working on their silver award, is a community activist and a reading buddy to children at risk. She loves to read and write and is currently working on two books. She is a published poet and lauds several inspirational poetry books.
She has received over 30 awards and accommodations for her volunteerism and community service. Most recently she was named the 2009-2010 Corporate Mentor of the Year by Women of Visionary Influence. The award honors women who juggle family and work and still manage to mentor and aspire other women to “keep on keeping on” and to strive for the best. Jarilyn received a BA in Journalism from Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, LA. She has received numerous certifications and awards in the areas of writing, speaking and design. Jarilyn is the daughter of John and Doris Dansby of Bossier, City, LA.
